About me
I’ve always gravitated toward creating.
As a kid in Ohio, I spent my days getting my hands dirty with markers, crayons, and paint. Growing up wasn't always easy, but I found a kernel of confidence in being artistic. I loved those creative, nerdy pursuits—they were my safe harbor.
In high school, an art teacher suggested I consider a career in design. It clicked instantly. I earned my design degree in 2002 and moved into a rewarding career in technology and user experience. It’s still a bit unbelievable to me that I’ve spent over 20 years in the interactive space, but that foundation in UX is what shapes my eye today.
Michael Grace & Co. was born in 2018 when I realized I missed creating art for art’s sake. I needed space for pure visual expression and the joy of making beautiful objects. This shop allows me to combine my love for technology with my desire to create on a personal scale, offering one-of-a-kind prints.
After many years calling Seattle home, I relocated my life to Chicago in 2025—trading the misty pines for the bold architecture and high-contrast energy of the city.
Playful sophistication
Details are everything. While my compositions are abstract, they are informed by tangible inspirations: nature, travel, architecture, and fashion. I love a bold visual statement—strong contrasts and vivid color.
My work is largely created in the digital space but contains manipulated textures from the real world. By combining sharp, digital geometric forms with gestural, naturalistic elements, I look for a unique tension—a crafted, personal expression designed for modern living.
A small favor
Thank you for visiting my shop. I sincerely hope you enjoy the work.
Before you go, a favor: Please offer love to those nerdy, atypical kids who might struggle to find their place in the world. I was once one of those kids, and the support of others meant everything. To pay it forward, I donate a portion of my proceeds to organizations working to create a world where LGBTQ+ young people are free to live equally and know their worthiness
